Scientists from Volgograd State Technical University are developing an intelligent system capable of independently synthesizing innovative technical solutions for industry. According to TASS, Dmitry Korobkin, Associate Professor of the Department of CAD and Search Design, the platform based on trained neural networks analyzes patent information from the databases of Rospatent, the United States, China, Europe and WIPO, extracting descriptions of devices, physical effects and formulas.
The system predicts technological trends and finds areas where patent activity is absent - the so-called "vacant" niches for R&D. This allows enterprises not to copy foreign developments, but to generate their own breakthrough solutions, compensating for the lack of specialized competencies on the ground. The platform automatically generates high-quality patent applications, accelerating the synthesis of domestic analogues of critical equipment.
The development has already been tested at Volgograd enterprises. In conjunction with the Department of Processes and Apparatuses of Chemical and Food Production, the system helped to obtain 19 patents for Volgogradneftemash LLC, Volgogradkhimmash LLC and Kontsessii Vodossnabzheniya LLC. In the context of sanctions pressure on technology supplies, the platform is effectively becoming a digital design bureau capable of partially replacing the lost access to foreign engineering databases.
