Two electroplating lines for coating special equipment parts launched at the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant

Domestic equipment will provide zinc plating and phosphating of large housings

The Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (part of the Kalashnikov concern) has commissioned two new electroplating lines. In April, a manually controlled zinc plating line and a mechanized phosphating line began operating. The equipment was manufactured in Russia and underwent a full cycle of commissioning works, replacing morally outdated facilities.

A key feature of the new lines is the different volume of baths, which allows applying protective coatings to both small parts and large body metal fragments of special equipment manufactured by the plant. This removes technological restrictions on the dimensions of processed units and increases the corrosion resistance of finished products.

Managing Director for Financial and Economic Activities of JSC "IMZ" Vladimir Labadin noted that the modernization of electroplating production is part of a large-scale investment program. It is planned to put into operation up to 100 units of new equipment by the end of the first quarter of 2027.
