Rumors of eavesdropping in Max: what the messenger representatives say

The platform responded to allegations of access to conversations

Reports have surfaced around the Max messenger about alleged access to users' calls. The company stated that this is not true: conversations are encrypted and data is protected.

Publications that Max allegedly has access to decrypting users' conversations are fake. All conversations in Max are encrypted, user data is securely protected.

Separately, Max explained where such suspicions could have come from. The messenger does use machine learning technologies - but they are not responsible for the content of conversations, but for the quality of communication.

The system analyzes connection parameters in real time and automatically adjusts the call: for example, switches the server or changes the codec if the quality drops. At the same time, the algorithms work impersonally and do not have access to the conversations themselves.

The company added that such mechanisms are aimed solely at improving the quality of communication and do not affect the privacy of users.
