A new app called "Digital Vault" has appeared in the App Store, which in reality turned out to be another version of Gazprombank's mobile bank for iPhone. Formally, it's a utility for storing receipts and documents, but inside it hides a full-fledged banking interface.
The scheme is already familiar. After the official app was removed from the App Store in 2024 due to sanctions, the bank began releasing "disguised" versions under neutral names. YourShopper, CashHunter, and GiftMate were released earlier; now they have been replaced by "Digital Vault."
During the moderation stage, the app looks like a regular service without mentioning banking functions, so it passes Apple's review. However, after installation, users get access to all the usual features: accounts, cards, transfers, and operations via the FPS.
These versions don't last long. Apple usually removes them a few days or weeks after they are discovered, but the already installed app continues to work.
The bank effectively has no alternative: the web version is less convenient, with no push notifications, poorer authorization, and a worse interface. Therefore, releasing "disguised" apps remains the only way to return a full-fledged mobile client to the iPhone.
At the same time, users are advised to be more careful: fake apps created to steal data may appear under the guise of banking apps. It is better to check the source through the bank's official channels.
