A ship strike group consisting of small anti-submarine ships (IPC) "Kabardino-Balkariya" and "Aleksin" (Project 1331M) discovered and hit a submarine of a mock enemy in the Baltic Sea. This was reported by the press service of the Baltic Fleet.
The sailors used underwater weapons — rocket-propelled depth charges and torpedoes. Having completed anti-submarine tasks, the ships repelled an air raid with the help of air defense systems and destroyed surface targets from artillery installations.
The calculations of the ship's combat posts promptly detected and classified training targets, and the artillery crews fired at a sea shield simulating a ship.
About Project 1331M Ships
Small anti-submarine ships of this project were built in the GDR by specialists from the Zelenodolsk Shipyard for the USSR Navy. After 1991, they became part of the Russian Navy.
IPC "Kabardino-Balkariya" was built in 1988 and transferred to the Baltic Fleet in 1989. IPC "Aleksin" entered service in the same year. In total, 12 ships were built under Project 1331M, 6 of them belong to the Russian Navy.
