Sber Sent Money to Space: Coin with NFC and AI Design Released

Limited edition, some copies will be sent into orbit and returned

Sber decided to combine collecting, technology, and space - and released the silver coin "Open Space" with an NFC token. Moreover, part of the edition will actually be sent into orbit.

The coin is made of 925 silver, with a total of 7,000 copies released. It can be found in more than a thousand branches throughout Russia. But the main emphasis is not on the metal, but on the filling: inside each coin is hidden an NFC token that gives the owner a digital "key" to the augmented version of the artifact.

In fact, this is a hybrid of a physical object and a digital asset - a format that major players are now betting on.

The visual component was created using the Kandinsky neural network, which automatically generated the reverse and packaging. The design includes an image of an astronaut, a porthole, all in a minimalist monochrome style with an emphasis on "space" aesthetics.

A special touch - some of the coins will be sent to the ISS. After returning, they will turn into limited edition souvenirs with a history, which automatically increases their value for collectors.

The release is timed to coincide with Space Week (April 6-12), which is held in honor of the 65th anniversary of Gagarin's flight. Sber is one of the key partners of the event - and clearly decided to come from the most technological side.
