MAX Started Pushing Channels: A Feed of Recommendations Appeared in the Messenger

The platform is taking a step towards algorithmic delivery within the application

A feed of channel recommendations has appeared in MAX — now the messenger doesn't just show messages, but also suggests what to watch and who to subscribe to.

The new feature is hidden in the "Channels" folder in the "Chats" section. After updating the application, the user is presented with a selection of channels with descriptions and a button for quick subscription. In essence, MAX has begun to build its own content showcase within itself.

If the number of subscriptions exceeds 20, the algorithmic feed disappears — only a list of already selected channels remains.

The launch takes place against the backdrop of an already large ecosystem: MAX has more than 4.7 million channels, and the total number of subscriptions exceeds 245 million. This means that the platform is gradually turning into a full-fledged media environment, and not just a messenger.

Given the audience of more than 107 million users, the new tool could become key to the growth of channels and the redistribution of attention within the platform.

MAX is clearly taking a step towards algorithms — and is starting to compete not only for communication, but also for what the user will watch within the application.
