The station's antenna post has a radio-transparent coating to protect the equipment from moisture and splashes. The station supports communication on a vessel moving at speeds up to 40 knots in a 6-7 point storm.
The kit includes spare parts and tools. With their help, sailors can independently carry out minor repairs and provide maintenance during the voyage. This is critical for ships that are at sea for months and do not call at ports to replenish supplies.
