Shock for Business: Russian Software Prices Rise by 20%

Reasons include high Central Bank rate, rising costs, and shortage of server equipment due to AI

The Russian software market in 2026 accelerated price growth. At the end of the first quarter, the cost of domestic software increased by an average of 10–20% year-on-year.

Market participants attribute the dynamics to the high key rate, rising personnel costs, and changes in the tax burden. Additional pressure is created by high demand for solutions within the country and limited competition in a number of segments. Specialized products and infrastructure solutions have risen in price the most.

In some segments, price growth reaches 30%, especially where competition is limited. Basic software added 10–15% to the cost of licenses and support, complex and scarce solutions — 15–25%.

An additional factor is the increase in the cost of equipment. Over the year, prices for server components have more than doubled, which directly affects the cost of software development and testing.

This is a global trend: production capacities are reoriented to components for AI data centers, which has led to a shortage and increase in the cost of "hardware" for traditional IT infrastructure for software development.

Despite the increase in prices, the market continues to develop due to stable demand and existing tax incentives. However, experts expect further pressure on the cost of solutions as infrastructure becomes more expensive and AI projects expand.
