Video cameras helped find teenagers on an electric scooter who hit a pensioner in Moscow

The kicksharing operator fined the violators 100 thousand rubles

Cameras in the Chertanovo district of the capital identified two girls who were riding together on an electric scooter and hit a pensioner. The kicksharing operator blocked their account and collected a fine of 100 thousand rubles, the Moscow Department of Transport reported.

The pensioner who was hit by the teenagers suffered serious injuries. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Moscow has opened a criminal case under Art. 268 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of rules ensuring the safe operation of transport). The investigation of the case is under the control of the head of the department, Alexander Bastrykin.

The Moscow Department of Transport explained that the electric scooter number allows you to quickly identify the violator and bring him to justice. Users who do not comply with the rules for using personal mobility devices (including scooters) are fined. If there are grounds, videos from cameras are sent to law enforcement agencies.

Users were reminded that personal mobility device rental is available to persons over 18 years of age. Only one person can ride an electric scooter, and it is forbidden to transfer the vehicle to teenagers.
