Rovers started working in Moscow hospitals: delivering medicines and tests

Yandex devices are being tested in two medical institutions in the capital

Delivery rovers have appeared in Moscow hospitals, taking on some of the routine work. Currently, such devices are already being tested in two large clinics - in the First City Hospital on Yakimanka and City Clinical Hospital No. 15 in Veshnyaki.

The project was launched jointly with the Moscow Department of Health. The devices travel between the buildings of hospital complexes.

They perform both regular and urgent deliveries. For example, several times a day, rovers take blood samples to the laboratory.

Also, delivery drones can pick up medicines from the pharmacy on the hospital grounds and deliver them to the department at the request of the head nurse. Thermo boxes are used to transport goods that require special storage conditions.

Yandex emphasizes that robots do not need special infrastructure. They can move along existing paths.

The use of rovers in hospitals complements existing scenarios - food and goods delivery. By the end of 2027, Yandex plans to release 20 thousand of these devices.
