We won't leave them in trouble: Russia sends a second ship with oil to Cuba

The Ministry of Energy confirmed the loading of another tanker for the Island of Freedom

Russian Minister of Energy Sergei Tsivilev announced that the Russian side is loading a second ship with oil for shipment to Cuba. The statement was made at the Energoprom-2026 forum in Kazan.

Yesterday there was a large meeting in St. Petersburg. Representatives of Cuba arrived. Cuba is completely blockaded, it was cut off. Who did the oil supply come from? A ship of the Russian Federation broke through the blockade. Now the second one is being loaded. We will not leave the Cubans in trouble.

Earlier, the Russian tanker "Anatoly Kolodkin" delivered one hundred thousand tons of oil to Cuba as part of a humanitarian mission. This was a response to the aggravation of the fuel crisis in Havana.

Yesterday, Russian Minister of Transport Andrei Nikitin, on the sidelines of the International Transport and Logistics Forum, stated that the delivery of humanitarian aid is carried out in strict accordance with international law. The Minister noted that Russian ships operate under the state flag and cannot become the object of restrictions.

Oil supplies are of strategic importance for the Cuban energy system: the island nation depends on fuel imports for electricity generation and transport operations. Interruptions in supplies directly affect the stability of electricity supply and the socio-economic situation. Russian assistance helps to mitigate the effects of external isolation and maintain the operability of critical infrastructure.
