Russia is returning to the great lunar race. The Russian Academy of Sciences has approved the concept of creating a Russian segment of the International Scientific Lunar Station — a project being implemented jointly with China.
The decision was announced by the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov, in the Federation Council. According to him, the project has already entered an active phase, and the Russian segment has received scientific approval and is moving forward.
We are talking about a full-fledged part of the future lunar infrastructure — with its own technologies, scientific tasks and equipment. In fact, Russia is forming its contribution to the new orbit of lunar exploration.
In the future, the station may become a base for research, technology testing and preparation for larger missions. The joint project with China is increasingly seen as an alternative center of power in the new space race.
