UAE aims to purchase S-400 "Triumph" after being disappointed with Patriot

Vladimir Vinokurov: Emirates and Saudi Arabia are placing orders for air defense systems in Russia

Russia's military-technical cooperation with Middle Eastern states will increase. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) are already placing orders in Russia for short-range air defense systems, and Saudi Arabia is following the same trend, according to Vladimir Vinokurov, head of the Center for Military-Diplomatic Analysis and Assessments.

According to him, the United States did not live up to its status as a security guarantor in the region when it failed to cope with missiles using its Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.

Currently, both the Emirates and Saudi Arabia are placing orders with us for short-range air defense systems, but now, I think, they are ready to buy the S-400 as well, as the Indians did after the last conflict with Pakistan — they will purchase several divisions.

The Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia, Dmitry Shugaev, confirmed that Russia does not exclude new deliveries of "Triumphs" abroad.
