Tests of the PMA-3 tamping and straightening machine have started at the Kalugaputmash plant. This is a completely Russian development, created with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Now, specialists are conducting a comprehensive check of all systems and mechanisms of the first sample.
The machine has already passed climatic and sanitary-hygienic tests according to the standards of TR TS 001/2011. Engineers have adjusted the hydraulics and pneumatics, and checked how the electronic control units interact. According to the company, all systems are operating normally.
After factory testing, the PMA-3 will go to the VNIIZhT test ring. There, the strength and driving characteristics of the equipment will be confirmed. The certificate for the machine is planned to be received this year.
The key innovation of the development is a continuous operating cycle. The solution allows you to dramatically reduce the time of technological windows during track repairs. The machine's productivity reaches 3,300 sleepers per hour, and the design speed is 90 km/h. A crew of three people is enough to operate it.
The PMA-3 received a unified cabin, which will later be used on the entire line of track equipment. Intelligent modules have been integrated into the machine: they assess the scope of work, automatically correct the track according to geoinformation data, and monitor the technical condition of the units.
