MegaFon has begun to open access to the fifth-generation network — users can enable "5G mode" and check how much faster mobile Internet has become. The function is activated directly in the personal account or on the website and works on modern smartphones with technology support.
The first coverage areas appeared in the largest cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. In the capital, you can test 5G in the area of the Garden Ring and the Hermitage Garden, in St. Petersburg - along the entire Nevsky Prospekt, and in Novosibirsk - in the city center and key points such as Lenin Square, Central Park and Akademgorodok.
Even outside these zones, the operator promises to improve the quality of communication. According to the company, the new function is able to increase Internet speed by 60% and make the connection more stable — without having to look for special coverage or change the device.
"5G mode" is designed for users who need maximum speed — for streaming, downloading files and online games. At the same time, MegaFon promises compensation if the service is unavailable.
The company notes that this is the first step towards the mass adoption of 5G, and users can already feel the difference in the speed and quality of mobile Internet.
