New Refueler Based on KamAZ Compass 9 Appears at Surgut Airport

The vehicle rolled off the assembly line in March and is already operating on the apron

The Surgut Airport's vehicle fleet has been supplemented with a new airfield drinking water refueler. The special equipment is built on a KamAZ Compass 9 chassis and is designed to supply water to aircraft. The vehicle was manufactured in March 2026.

The refueler is equipped with two stainless steel tanks: a main tank with a volume of 2000 liters for drinking water and an additional tank for draining used water. The hydraulic lift allows servicing all types of aircraft, including low-bodied airliners. The operating temperature range is from –40 to +40 °С, which is important for the harsh climate of Surgut.

For passengers, the appearance of new equipment means clean drinking water on board, fast service even during short stops, and strict compliance with sanitary standards, the airport said.

The KamAZ Compass 9 is a medium-duty truck with a gross weight of 9.5 tons, manufactured since 2022. It is equipped with a 3.8-liter Cummins ISF diesel engine with a power of 152–154 hp or a KamAZ 590 engine (143 hp). The basic configuration includes ABS, ESC, ASR, and a pre-heater. The chassis allows the installation of various superstructures and has already proven itself as a reliable base for special equipment.
