The vehicle fleet of Petrozavodsk's "Avtospectrans" has been replenished with another new garbage truck. Unlike its three-axle counterparts, this vehicle is a two-axle, which makes it particularly maneuverable and allows it to work confidently in narrow courtyard passages where large-sized equipment cannot turn around. For the driver's convenience, the garbage truck is equipped with rear-view cameras.
We are talking about the KamAZ-43255 chassis — a two-axle truck with a 4×2 wheel formula, which has been produced since 2007. The model was developed specifically for operation in dense urban areas: it has a low center of gravity, which ensures stability, and is characterized by good maneuverability. The truck is equipped with a 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine with a capacity of 203–210 hp, a mechanical gearbox and a 210-liter fuel tank. The total weight of the vehicle is 14.3 tons, the carrying capacity is about 7 tons. The chassis is widely used for the installation of various superstructures, including garbage truck equipment, and has proven itself as a reliable base for municipal equipment.
As the mayor of Petrozavodsk, Inna Kolykhmatova, previously reported, four more garbage trucks will be purchased for "Avtospectrans" by the end of 2025, and a total of 14 units of special equipment will be added to the company's fleet this year.
