UAZ Suspends Production in Cuba

Production of UAZ vehicles in Cuba has been suspended due to severe power supply restrictions on the island. This was reported by the company's press service.

UAZ noted that the restrictions affected most enterprises in the country.

Together with the Cuban side, we are awaiting a prompt resolution of the situation and resumption of work.

The assembly line for the production of Ulyanovsk SUVs was launched at the EISA plant in Havana in April 2025. Its design capacity is up to 500 units per year.

The first models to roll off the assembly line were the UAZ "Patriot" and "Pickup", adapted to the climate and roads of Cuba. The cars are produced by large-unit assembly from vehicle kits supplied from Russia.

Havana also organized UAZ maintenance and spare parts supply. In 2025, the EISA plant assembled several dozen Russian SUVs.
