The newest K-17 "Boomerang" IFV was brought out of the shadows: the armored personnel carrier was transported on a trawl

The combat vehicle was spotted for the first time since 2024

Unexpected footage of the transportation of the unified wheeled combat platform "Boomerang", on the basis of which the K-17 IFV and K-16 APC are being built, has appeared online. The photos were published by the Telegram channel "Military Informant".

The picture shows the platform's hull on a trawl in a characteristic "desert" or protective color, and without a combat module. The platform is equipped with additional armor panels and floats, which indicates that it retains its amphibious properties even with a high level of protection.

The long absence of "Boomerangs" in the media field has generated many rumors - from a complete freeze of the project to its radical revision. However, the appearance of the vehicle confirms that work on the "Boomerang" is still ongoing. The last time any information about the platform appeared was in autumn 2024.

In addition, the fact that the platform was transported on an open trawl may indicate that the project has entered the stage of pre-production.

As a reminder, in both cases, the "Boomerang" will receive a 750 hp diesel engine and an automatic transmission, and the combat armament for the K-17 IFV and K-16 APC will be different.

The maximum combat weight of the combat platform is 28,600 kg, the maximum speed on the highway is 100 km/h. The fuel range is 800 km.
