An aviation accident occurred in Kolomna, Moscow Region: a light aircraft crashed in the area of Kirova Street. The emergency signal was received by the crisis management center at 15:40 Moscow time on March 20, 2026.
According to preliminary information confirmed by the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, two people died as a result of the plane crash. One of those on board tried to eject during the descent, but this did not save his life. The total number of people on board the plane is currently not specified.
It is known that the flight was carried out from the Torbeevo-Start airfield in the Stupino urban district. The flight was planned as a routine one, the route and purpose of which are now being established. The published photos from the scene show that the plane entered the green area nose down. The front of the fuselage and the propeller group received critical damage. Fortunately, a fire on the ground was avoided: the fuel system did not leak, which could have caused a fire.
Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene. The departments are conducting an investigation, establishing the technical reasons for the incident and the circumstances preceding the disaster. Local authorities are refraining from commenting until the investigation team has completed its work.
