Units of the Russian army are acquiring promising portable UAV detectors "Alyssum-8", developed by the Samara company "Kvadro kod": the device has already entered the troops, reports the Telegram channel "Russian Weapon" with reference to sources.
The main feature of the novelty is the absence of external antennas, while the detection range is not inferior to analogues with remote antennas. If necessary, soldiers can use the radio extension of the receiving antenna to work in cars and dugouts. The body is cast, completely sealed, the connectors are closed with rubber bands - the device easily fits into a magazine pouch for an AK or in a radio station pocket.
The detector detects all types of UAVs in the range from 300 to 8000 MHz without being tied to the channel grid. The possibility of operating up to 12,000 MHz with range expansion during updates is declared. "Alyssum" does not react to nearby electronic warfare equipment - with powerful signals, the device goes into protection, preventing the receiver from failing. The recognition quality is high, there are few false positives.
The device classifies signals by type: digital (Mavik, Autel, etc.), analog FPV kamikaze, Wi-Fi, as well as various communication systems and interference. The scanning speed of all ranges is 5 seconds. According to the indication, you can immediately determine whether the drone is approaching or moving away, which is convenient for assessing the danger.
The detector can work with a smartphone via Bluetooth or USB, and is charged from a power bank via Type-C. A special application provides access to settings, updates and additional functions. The scan log saves the history for the last 40 hours, which allows you to analyze the situation in dynamics.
