Residents of the capital have sharply increased demand for alternative means of communication after the introduction of mobile Internet restrictions in Moscow, Wildberries & Russ reported. From March 6 to 10, the turnover of radios increased by 27%, pagers - by 73%, and landline phones - by a quarter.
At the same time, Muscovites actively bought Wi-Fi routers last year: in 2025, sales growth amounted to 70% in monetary terms.
Problems with mobile communications in Moscow began on March 6. Operators explained that we are talking about "external restrictions", while their own networks are operating normally. The authorities associate the restrictions with the need to ensure the safety of citizens.
