Yandex has begun to introduce a new feature in Yandex Browser — now the artificial intelligence Alice AI can communicate with the user directly inside any web page.
The function is called SplitView and turns the browser into a full-fledged work center with AI. The screen is divided into two parts:
- on the left — a website, article or document
- on the right — a chat with a neural network.
The user can instantly ask the AI about what he sees on the screen: ask to explain a complex text, retell a long article, or analyze a task.
The main difference of the new function is that the neural network understands the context of the page. It does not need to be explained what is being discussed: it analyzes the open material itself and builds answers based on it.
The developers note that the system is especially useful for complex texts and "non-clickable" materials — for example, exam tickets, study assignments, or PDF documents.
In fact, the browser starts working as a personal researcher and assistant:
- finds the necessary information in the text
- explains complex topics
- retells long materials
- helps to study and work faster.
According to the developers, artificial intelligence also knows how to analyze videos, documents, and large texts, highlighting key facts from them and forming brief answers.
The new feature is already available to those who download the browser now. The update will be rolled out gradually for existing users.
Such tools can change the very principle of working with the Internet: instead of searching for information, the user will more often simply ask questions to artificial intelligence directly on the page.
