Russians rushed to buy domestic cars: Toyota and Mazda are losing ground

The "passenger car" segment grew by 30% thanks to GAZ, Lada and UAZ

In the first week of March, 22.8 thousand new passenger cars were registered - 8.5% more than a week earlier, said Sergey Tselikov, director of the Avtostat agency. Spring growth is noted for Lada, Haval, Belgee and even Changan.

Among the leaders of alternative brands, Toyota and Mazda have changed positions and now occupy 7th and 8th places in the top ten.

The light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment grew by 30% over the week - up to 1343 units. The main contribution was made by GAZ, Lada and UAZ. However, compared to the same week last year, passenger car sales are still in the red (-21%).

In the cargo segment, after a long decline, a sharp jump in registrations was recorded: +51% (up to 1335 cars). This may be due to one-time deliveries of KAMAZ, Valdai and Dongfeng. At the same time, the decline continues for the former Chinese leaders Sitrak and Shacman.

For the first time in a long time, positive dynamics have been noted compared to the same period last year in the segments of medium and heavy trucks - growth amounted to 8% and 9%, respectively.
