A unique rat rod built on the basis of the legendary 1980 GAZ-24 Volga is being sold in Novosibirsk. The car was assembled by hand, and the entire build history has been documented, the seller reports.
Under the hood is a fully overhauled engine from a GAZ-53 (the gearbox remained from the Volga). The mileage after assembly is only 500 kilometers, and the engine has barely even been broken in. The front suspension is from a Volga, while the rear axle is from a Gazelle, mounted on custom links. The clutch is an adapter disc from a Volga to a GAZ.
All the electrics work: high and low beams, sidelights, turn signals, brake lights, and electronic cooling fans.
The seller admits there is not much desire to sell the car — it is a "toy" that stood in the garage for a year and a half and simply delighted the owner.
