The Institute for the Development of Education of the Sverdlovsk Oblast, together with Yandex.Education, will train six thousand teachers in the region to work with AI tools by the end of the academic year. The program is designed for teachers of all subjects and does not require prior experience with neural networks, according to the regional government's information center.
During the training, teachers will learn how to prepare educational materials and assignments using AI, develop interactive lesson formats, and organize feedback from students. A separate block is dedicated to academic integrity — recognizing work done with the help of neural networks.
According to the Minister of Education of the Sverdlovsk Oblast, Svetlana Trenikhina, it is the teacher who sets the framework for the use of neural networks and teaches schoolchildren to use them as a tool for independent work, and not for cheating. It is assumed that the automation of routine tasks will free up teachers' time for personal work with students.
The Sverdlovsk Oblast is among the first wave of coverage of the program, along with Moscow and the Moscow Oblast — a total of about 15,000 teachers will be trained. After that, the program is planned to be opened to teachers throughout Russia.
