Since March, all medium-duty trucks of the Gazon and Sadko families have been rolling off the assembly line with upgraded platforms — their sides are now made of galvanized steel. Thanks to this, the trucks have received serious protection against rust, the Gorky Automobile Plant reported.
In addition, for extra corrosion resistance, both the sides and the base of the platforms undergo cathodic electrocoating primer treatment before painting.
The transition to galvanized sides became part of the program of continuous improvement of the entire GAZ vehicle lineup. Earlier, in November 2025, a similar innovation was introduced for light-duty vehicles: the Sobol and Gazelle models of all three generations — Business, NEXT, and NN.
