Russian Sappers Create Doppler Effect Mine Jammer

The device forces the munition to explode at a safe distance - up to 140 meters

Russian servicemen have developed a compact device that forces mines with radio detonators to self-destruct at a safe distance. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing a sapper with the call sign Lev.

We are talking about munitions equipped with a target sensor based on the Doppler effect. Inside such a mine, a small transmitter operates, constantly emitting radio waves. If a moving object appears nearby — a person, a car, or equipment — the reflected signal changes frequency, and the mine is triggered. Detecting it by conventional means is practically impossible.

But then they came up with such a device — a jammer. We turn it on, and at a distance of 140 meters, the mine jumps out and is automatically defused.

The device easily fits into a backpack and allows sappers to defuse dangerous munitions remotely, without entering the affected area. It was previously reported that enemy troops are actively using mines with radio detonators with the Doppler effect.
