The Institute of Physical and Technical Problems (IFTP, part of Rostec) has sent 21 radioisotope densitometers for the first stage of the mining and processing plant (GOK) at the Chernogorskoye deposit in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the state corporation's press service reported.
All devices are specially configured to perform measurements during the extraction of platinum and palladium, they are completely vibration-resistant, therefore, the accuracy of measurements is reliably ensured.
A radioisotope densitometer is a device for non-contact measurement of the density of pulps (liquids with solid particles) in pipelines and tanks. It is suitable for working with toxic, hot and viscous substances.
The Chernogorsk Mining Company is building a mining and processing plant for the extraction of platinum group metals, copper and nickel. The company is located 20 km from Norilsk.
The first stage will be commissioned in 2026. The design capacity is 7 million tons of ore per year.
