Russia Returns to the Elite of Global Microelectronics After 45 Years

By the end of 2026, the country will master a new 130-nanometer lithograph

Russia in 2026 re-entered the limited circle of countries capable of producing equipment for electronic engineering. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov at an industry forum.

According to him, the key task remains microelectronics, where it is necessary to reduce the technological gap with world leaders.

Manturov noted that the country lost its position back in the 1980s, but now the industry is gradually restoring its competencies.

But I can say that from this year we have returned to the pool of countries, and there are only three of them who produce electronic engineering.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that this year in Russia they will master the production of lithographic equipment with norms of 130 nanometers. Although leading manufacturers are already working with smaller process technologies, the launch of their own technology is seen as the foundation for further development.
