Hundreds of cases of forgery of medical education diplomas have been identified in Russia - some fake doctors have been practicing for decades, said Sergey Fedosov, chairman of the health committee of the National Association of Healthcare Managers (NAUZ).
At a round table in the Public Chamber, it was proposed to assign each medical worker a unique QR code and place it on the office. By scanning it, the patient will see on the website of the Ministry of Health confirmed information about the doctor's education.
This solution will help both patients and employers, Fedosov believes. In addition, the innovation will help fight "healer-bloggers" who treat people online and do not have medical education.
They will draw a diploma of any kind, no worse than a real one. <...> We contact the university - after two months we receive an answer that this person has never studied with them at all. They will post a scan of the fake on their channel and that's it. Therefore, basically we need a register of doctors, and we need to attach not a copy of the diploma, but a QR code from this register. Then this solves the problem of bloggers.
Currently, the federal register of medical workers is only available to the Ministry of Health. A proposal to open a special section on the agency's website will be sent to the ministry.
