On February 12, 2026, the Iranian telecommunications satellite "Jam-e Jam-1" was successfully launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The device was delivered to its target orbit by a heavy-class Proton-M launch vehicle with a DM-03 booster. The deployment of the satellite was announced by the state broadcasting corporation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRIB).
The satellite is designed to develop the national public broadcasting system and will be the first Iranian geostationary-type device specializing in television broadcasting.
According to Tehran, "Jam-e Jam-1" will provide stable signal coverage in the country and surrounding regions, and will also strengthen the infrastructure of state television through professional retransmission of audio and video signals. The device is located in a geostationary orbit at an altitude of about 36 thousand kilometers, which allows it to constantly "hang" over one point on the Earth's surface and provide continuous broadcasting.
