Volga cars may be produced at the former Volkswagen plant in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The Senat cars are planned to be produced at the former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg. These opinions were shared by experts interviewed by TASS.
According to expert Igor Morzharetto, everything is clear with the production of Volga. However, the Toyota plant considered the implementation of various projects, so there is no accurate information on the production of cars yet.
Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Za Rulem", on the contrary, expressed confidence in the fate of the St. Petersburg enterprise.
It can be assumed with a probability of 99% that cars under the Senat brand will be produced at the Toyota plant.
According to Maxim Kadakov, the new cars will become an alternative to models from Toyota Camry to Mercedes E-Class.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov, announced on February 11 that both productions are planned to be launched in 2026.
