A batch of new BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles has been delivered to the Russian military. The equipment received a number of upgrades that increased its effectiveness and protection, the state corporation Rostec reported.
Each BMP-3 was equipped with a more modern electronic warfare system. The protection of the vehicles' underbody against blasts was also reinforced, and the anti-fragmentation armor resistance of the rear and front sections was increased.
The equipment continues to be continuously modernized and refined based on combat-use experience.
Rostec recalled that over the past four years, dozens of changes have been introduced into the vehicle's design. Among them are additional protection kits, special devices and equipment that make it possible to increase the BMP's mobility and the effectiveness of its weapons.
