New air travel rules for families with children under 12 will come into effect in Russia. This was announced by Pavel Fedyaev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Development of Transport Infrastructure.
In the Russian Federation, from March 1, families with children under 12 will be able to obtain adjacent seats on an airplane without paying for this service separately. These norms are contained in the updated federal aviation rules, approved by the corresponding order of the Ministry of Transport.
The new rules will simplify the carriage of hand luggage. A stroller can be taken on board even if the child is not flying. This change should make travel more convenient for families.
From March 1, Russian airlines will also be required to notify passengers in advance about flight rules, conditions for making changes to tickets, flight cancellation and refunds, including situations related to illness or other circumstances. In addition, airlines will disclose the full terms of the fare to customers when booking and will not charge for correcting errors in the ticket that occurred through their fault.
