Bill on the safe use of artificial intelligence is being prepared in the State Duma

The document establishes rules for labeling AI content

A bill on the regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) may be submitted to the Russian government by the end of February, RIA Novosti reported, citing the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko.

The document is being developed to define the criteria for a "Russian" neural network, regulate copyright and labeling of AI content, and establish the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of developers and users. The project will stipulate the conditions for the use of AI in various industries and form a conceptual framework to eliminate ambiguities in interpretations.

The key objective of the bill is to minimize the risks of using AI in "sensitive" areas: healthcare, legal proceedings, public safety, and education. At the same time, the requirements for AI in the commercial sector, except for critical infrastructure facilities, will not yet apply.

The adoption of the document will create a legal framework for the safe use of AI in Russia, limiting potential threats to citizens and state systems, but without affecting the daily activities of businesses where the risk is considered low.
