The Project 20380 corvette "Gromkiy" and the Project 20385 corvette "Gremyashchiy" of the Pacific Fleet practiced anti-submarine missions in the strait zones of the Kuril Islands during a sea transit.
During the exercise, the crews simulated the detection of a mock enemy submarine that was attempting to evade pursuit. The ships used tactical methods to track the underwater contact and transmitted a demand to surface. After the "hostile" submarine refused to comply, the combat crews of the corvette "Gromkiy" carried out the mock destruction of the target — an electronic (training) torpedo launch was conducted from the "Paket-NK" system.
In addition, during the transit the sailors practiced countering modern threats — unmanned aerial vehicles and uncrewed boats. Anti-aircraft artillery systems AK-630M (30 mm caliber) and heavy machine guns of 12.7 mm caliber were used to engage the targets.
