Chinese company Rox has reached an agreement to manufacture its vehicles in Russia. In spring 2026, production of the Rox 01 and Rox Adamas hybrid models will begin at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. At the initial stage, the vehicles will be assembled using the large-unit method.
Rox representatives shared that the launch of production in Russia will be carried out using an assembly technology based on a welded and painted body, which will make it possible to start production quickly. The project with Avtotor is being considered as a long-term investment, and under favorable market conditions, an increase in the level of localization is possible.
The Rox 01 is a premium SUV with a series hybrid powertrain that is already available on the Russian market. Adamas has become its updated version, recently receiving Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS). The Rox 01 is equipped with three electric motors with a combined output of 475 horsepower, while the gasoline engine serves as a generator. All-wheel drive allows acceleration to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, and the range under the WLTC cycle is 1,115 kilometers.
As for the Adamas, which is expected to go on sale in Russia in the first quarter of this year, it is known that it will have air suspension with adjustable ground clearance and eight airbags. The exact specifications of the powertrain for the Russian market have not yet been disclosed. In China, where the model was introduced in December, its price ranges from 349,900 to 359,900 yuan (3.86-3.97 million rubles).
