Orlan reconnaissance drones are setting flight range records

Observation at a distance of 100 km has become standard practice for the military

Russian reconnaissance drones of the Orlan line are breaking previous flight range records, allowing crews to monitor the situation at distances of up to 100 km.

The Orlan-10 and Orlan-30 unmanned aircraft can stay airborne for up to 10 hours. They run on gasoline, so subzero weather does not affect their technical capabilities in any way. Operating at a distance of around 100 km is standard practice for operators.

During each flight, operators try to maneuver constantly and "play with altitude" depending on the tactical situation.

FPV drones have a downside — they use a battery, an accumulator, and in freezing weather it discharges quickly. Because of this, we stay in the sky longer than they do.

Maintenance of the Orlan takes no more than half an hour — from landing to a new launch. The drones run on regular 95-octane gasoline and outwardly resemble a small airplane. They are completely invulnerable to electronic warfare systems.
