The Murmansk region recorded the collapse of five power line supports. This was announced on January 24 by the governor of the region, Andrey Chibis, with reference to data from the Rosseti company.
Following the survey, experts confirmed damage to the infrastructure. The authorities organized the delivery of new supports from the Leningrad region and the Republic of Karelia. Repair crews have begun restoration work.
Work to restore power supply is ongoing. The causes of the incident will be established during the investigation.
Earlier, a state of high alert was introduced in the region due to accidents on power lines. Temporary power outages persist in Murmansk and the closed city of Severomorsk.
The cause of the accidents was adverse weather conditions. The formation of ice and frost on the wires led to an increased load on the structures and subsequent damage to the supports.
