Only Barnaul: No Second Airport to Be Built in Altai Krai

The Novaport holding company does not plan to build an airport in Biysk, Altai Krai, where the air harbor has not been in operation for more than 15 years. This was reported in the company's press center.

Biysk Airport stopped accepting regular flights by the end of the 2000s. Currently, only Barnaul Airport operates in the region, which served less than 800,000 passengers in 2025. In 2026, Novaport plans to maintain the existing route network and increase the number of hours on regional routes.

According to representatives of the holding, small aviation in the region is economically unviable without state support. Therefore, one should not count on the opening of an airport in Biysk in the near future.

Also, Novaport has no specific plans for the development of the airfield in Belokurikha, Altai, where a landing site operates. The possibility of placing hangars for private carriers of light aircraft is currently being considered. Further development of the site will depend on the readiness of the regional authorities to subsidize interregional flights and the availability of appropriate aircraft from operators.
