Rosatom's enterprises do not depend on supplies of composite materials from foreign production. This was announced by Alexey Likhachev, General Director of the State Corporation.
We can say that today we have zero dependence on imports.
According to Alexey Likhachev, over the past nine years, Rosatom has broken into the top five countries with its own production of carbon fiber and fiberglass. The state corporation's enterprises use these technologies for environmental and construction projects, as well as for creating centrifuges.
In 2025, it was reported that Rosatom launched the first serial production of thermoplastic composite materials in Russia. By 2032, a full-cycle plant is planned to be built in the Sverdlovsk region, which will produce carbon fiber and PAN precursor (a strategic raw material for producing carbon fiber).
