The Russian military has presented a unique homemade night vision system, assembled literally "on the knee" from improvised means. The basis of the device was ordinary VR glasses, widely used by FPV drone operators. The soldiers modernized them by installing night cameras from drones, resoldering the electronics and adding an autonomous power source.
According to the military personnel, the new system makes it possible to effectively detect enemy FPV drones and track the movement of foot groups in the dark. The device has already proven its value in real combat conditions: in complete darkness, the silhouette of an enemy drone becomes clearly distinguishable, which gives the calculation a decisive advantage during interception.
