Countries are working to synchronize regulations in the field of AI

Belarus and Russia are working to create a unified, secure information space and are synchronizing regulations in the field of artificial intelligence and digital technologies. This was announced by Gennady Lepeshko, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Belarus on National Security, Chairman of the Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of Belarus and Russia on Security and Defense.

In December 2024, a new Security Concept of the Union State was approved, in which one of the strategic interests and priority areas for ensuring the security of the Union State is "the formation and sustainable development of a unified information space and ensuring information security".

According to him, the heads of the two states have signed several key documents regulating information protection issues and defining the foundations of national cybersecurity systems.

In September 2025, large-scale joint strategic exercises "Zapad-2025" were held, during which tasks were worked out to ensure information security (protecting troops from cyberattacks using robotic systems and artificial intelligence).

Lepeshko noted that both countries continue to develop cooperation in the field of import substitution of software and are implementing joint developments to protect against malicious programs in the face of external sanctions.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian cybersecurity services market is developing twice as fast as the global one.
