Russia has achieved good results in the development of modern metrological equipment. This was stated by Anton Shalaev, head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart).
Less than 15 years ago, there were several dozen Russian enterprises developing metrological equipment, and now there are more than 600.
Every year, about 3 thousand new or modernized measuring instruments are certified in the country. Of these, almost 70% are of domestic production, and 15 years ago this figure was only 15%, Shalaev emphasized.
Since 2019, Rosstandart specialists have been updating the register with a list of Russian measuring instruments that are similar to foreign ones in terms of their characteristics. There are now 1,984 items in it.
The head of the department noted that it is necessary to inform Russian businesses about the availability of such equipment in the country. This would help domestic enterprises find new buyers, and business circles to abandon imported products.
