Azimut installed DVOR 2000/DME/N 2700 radio beacons at three Arctic locations

The new equipment will provide precise aircraft navigation in the Arctic and reduce dependence on GPS

Azimut (part of Rostec Group) installed modern DVOR 2000/DME/N 2700 radio beacons at three Arctic locations: Vorkuta, Apatity, and Zhigansk. This will allow pilots to navigate safely in flight even with an unstable satellite signal.

The new radio beacons generate and transmit radio signals for aircraft navigation, ensuring precision during approach and landing while reducing dependence on GPS. The equipment is designed for extreme temperatures down to -50°C and is easy to operate: components can be replaced without fully reconfiguring the system.

Azimut Deputy CEO Aleksei Galchenkov emphasized that the DVOR 2000/DME/N 2700 increases air traffic capacity and safety in the Arctic by providing a continuous and reliable ground-based signal.

The company's aeronautical navigation systems are already operating successfully in Chukotka, the Kuril Islands, Yamal, as well as in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The equipment is also in demand abroad — in Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Abkhazia.
