People's Artist of Russia Oleg Gazmanov expressed the opinion that the music industry cannot avoid the integration of artificial intelligence. The singer believes that there was initially distrust toward such technologies, but now their presence has become obvious.
The artist said that he considered AI tools undesirable to use, but over time realized that progress in this field cannot be stopped.
At first the reaction was: "that is it, drive it away with a filthy broom." And then I realized that it is inevitable; this progress cannot be stopped. That means it needs to be harnessed and made to work for the benefit of the music industry.
He compared the situation to the integration of synthesizers, which also caused doubts among musicians in their time, but today are widely used.
Gazmanov pointed out that elements of AI have long been present in music production. Many performers resort to computer processing of the voice, which, according to him, became the primary form of AI. This simplifies the process and makes it more transparent. The artist believes that the quality of music created with the help of AI depends on the skill of the authors.
Bad and untalented composers will use AI to make bad works. And talented poets, composers, and arrangers will use it as an assistant to reduce routine work and focus on creativity.
