The creation of a stable power supply system for the Vostochny Cosmodrome is a significant event for the domestic rocket and space industry. Thanks to this project, the cosmodrome will receive 49 Megawatts in the first category of reliability.

The runway of the airfield at Vostochny was put into operation on May 14. On June 17, the first cargo plane with spacecraft on board arrived at the airport.

In the future, the airport may become international. It will provide reception and departure of all types of passenger, transport and specialized aircraft, including An-124 and Il-76.

Vostochny is the youngest cosmodrome in Russia, the first launch of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket from its territory took place in 2016. The launch of the heavy carrier rocket Angara-A5 from Vostochny took place on April 11, 2024.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Soyuz-2.1b rocket was allowed to launch from Vostochny.
