The Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Engineering (TsNIITOCHMASH JSC, part of the Kalashnikov concern) has announced the full implementation of the 2025 state contract for the supply of AOB-05 aerosol-forming optoelectronic countermeasure ammunition.
AOB-05 76 mm ammunition was developed by TsNIITOCHMASH specialists specifically to create a dynamic masking aerosol screen capable of effectively countering high-precision weapons with optoelectronic guidance systems.
When fired, the munition sequentially activates cassettes with a chemical aerosol-forming composition, forming a protective screen at a distance of 10 to 80 meters in less than 2 seconds.
Single- or multi-support launchers, also designed at TsNIITOCHMASH, are used to launch the AOB-05. Their design allows for flexible placement of the required number of munitions on the protected object.
Main tactical and technical characteristics of AOB-05:
- Caliber: 76 mm
- Length: 360 mm
- Weight: 2.1 kg
- Operating temperature range: from –40 °C to +50 °C
